Landpoorter van Dordrecht. Heemraad 1454 en schout 1459/60 van Ridderkerk, waarsman van Oud-Reijerwaard 1460, 1467/70. Presenteerde zich in 1467 namens het gemeneland bij Karel de Stoute, de nieuwe Bourgondische vorst. Uit deze afvaardiging kan men afleiden, dat Roelof beslist tot de vooraanstaande inwoners van de Reijerwaard behoorde. Hij bezat daar grote landerijen, wellicht gedeeltelijk erfgoed van zijn onbekende echtgenote.
