Woonde te Puttershoek, visser, wordt 1619/21 vermeld als pachter van de visrechten op de Oude Maas onder Oud-Beijerland, die van 1622/31 aan (zijn zoon) Pieter Baers verpacht werden. De te Puttershoek onder patroniem Pieter Cornelisz vermelde persoon is vrijwel zeker dezelde als Pieter Cornelisz Baers. Zijn oudste zoon Cornelis Pietersz draagt naast de naam Baers vaak de alias (de oude) Hoogheyt, evenals diens zoon DirckCornelisz (de) Hoogheyt. Pieters zoon Jan noemt zich Baers, terwijl zoon Pieter Baers ook wel Pieterman genoemd wordt.
