Notes about Meindert Zuidema

Mijn naam is Henk Frederiks (19-8-1953). Mijn overoma is Jantje Freederieks (geboren 13-11-1873 te Wedde). Zij heeft een zgn. "voorkind" gehad. Dat was mijn opa Hendrik Frederiks, geboren 24-4-1896 te Oude Pekela. De vader is onbekend,
maar een oom van mij heeft vorig jaar tegen mij gezegd (helaas is hij onlangs overleden), dat de vader ene Zuidema was uit Nieuwe Pekela. Ik heb toen alle Zuidema's bekeken die in de periode 1850 - 1880 zijn geboren en die potentieel de vader
van mijn opa zouden kunnen zijn. Uiteindelijk bleef alleen Meindert Zuidema over. Hij is geboren op 7-3-1861 en zou dus 34 jaar zijn wanneer mijn opa verwekt is. Hij heeft het kind, mijn opa dus, niet erkend. Binnen onze familie wa s dit een taboe
en daar werd (helaas) niet over gesproken. Dat mijn oom de naam Zuidema noemde was al heel bijzonder. Verder wou hij er ook niets over zeggen. Mijn overoma is in 1901 getrouwd met Stoffer Tuinhout.
De kans lijkt mij klein, maar ik hoop dat u hier iets over kunt zeggen of mij op weg helpen hoe ik er achter kan komen of bovengenoemde juist is.
