Jacobus Eysermans werd door zijn dochter Philomena verzorgd. Hij is gestorven op zijn 96ste. Die Philomena wist wat gezondheid was. Al in het begin van de zestiger jaren sprak zij al over diëten en overgewicht alsof zij vijftig jaar later leefde, alsof zij evenveel wist als wij vandaag. Zelf werd zij 98 jaar oud (gestorven 1999), dus iets zal zij wel vanaf hebben geweten.

Kleinzoon Luc Eysermans schreef ons:
Het zou mooi zijn een foto te vinden van die oude man die dan toch teruggaat naar 1868. Ik herinner me die man trouwens, wij hebben hem nog bezocht. Kijk, als er ergens oude foto’s te vinden zijn, dan wel bij de nakomelingen van Philomena (‘tante Miet’ werd zij genoemd, zij was de draaischijf / 'rots in de branding' van de generatie geboren rond 1900). Die tante Maria Philomena was bakkersvrouw, ook haar zoon Karel Adriaensens is nadien bakker geweest. Hij had ook een zus, Ida Adriaensens meen ik. Dus die mensen zouden foto’s kunnen hebben van ‘de oude vader Eysermans’ zoals Jacobus (1868-1965) in de beginjaren zestig werd genoemd. Indien de kinderen van Philomena niet thuis geven, dan zijn er nog de nakomelingen van haar broer Johannes Eysermans. Die was eveneens getrouwd met een Adriaensens (broer familie Eysermans X zus familie Adriaensens en zus familie E X broer familie A), die had drie kinderen.
