AIbers en de Eindhovense linnenfabrikant Johannes Josephus Schroder de N.V. Eerste Nederlandsche Fabriek van Oliezuren ter bereiding van zachte zeep "Mars"
op. Frans bracht als zijn aandeel de bestaande fabriek onbelast in. Daarvoor heeft hij het gebouw moeten vrij maken van hypotheek. Hij heeft dat waarschijnlijk kunnen doen dank zij de Eindhovense sigarenfabrikant Johannes Petrus Schroder
van wie hij tegeneen onderpand van 24 volgestorte aandelen in de N.V. Eerste Nederlandsche Fabriek van Oliezuren "Mars" een bedrag van f. 12.000,- had kunnen lenen. (1) De fabriek van oliezuren, die aan de Eindhovense Molenstraat stond,
lijkt aanvankelijk goed te hebben gelopen, maar in 1906 besloot de vergadering van (twaalf) aandeelhouders tijdens een vergadering in hotel "La Station" in Utrecht om de vennootschap te ontbinden en de fabriek met de inventaris voor f
30.000,- aan Frans te verkopen.(2) Om te aankoop te financieren gaf Frans aan Zutphense zeepzieder Bernardus A. Albers een hypotheek van f 17.400,- op de oliezuurfabriek compleet met inventaris.(3) Korte tijd later gaf hij sigarenfabrikant
Johannes P. Schroder nog een hypotheek van f 6000,- op zijn fabriek.(4) De aandeelhouders hadden de situatie goed ingeschat. Frans had al snel geld tekort. Op 18 november 1907 richtten Hendrikus J. van Leuvesteyn, administrateur in
Stratum, Govert Korteweg, zeepzieder in Woensel en Bernardus W. F. Dagevos, arts ((getrouwd met Gudula Egbertina Tatiana Cornelia Eijcken (jongere zus van de vrouw van Johannes Petrus Schroder)) in Valkenswaard de N.V. Maatschappij tot
Exploitatie van Zeep- en Glycerinefabrieken v/h Frans Spoorenberg op. Frans was dit keer geen aandeelhouder, maar zou wel opnieuw directeur worden.(5) De oprichting van de nieuwe onderneming lijkt een laatste noodsprong van hem te zijn
geweest om aan bedrijfskapitaal te komen. Het zal Frans' bedoeling zijn geweest, zijn bedrijf aan de nieuwe vennootschap te verkopen. Zo zou hij in elk geval zijn baan redden. Zijn plan mislukte echter. De Meierijsche Bank, waar hij veel
geld had geleend, kwam in de problemen en werd op 28 december 1907 failliet verklaard. Op verzoek van curatoren werd Frans op 31 januari 1908 in staat van faillissement verklaard.(6) Sigarenfabrikant Johannes Petrus Schroder verscheen eind
april 1908 voor notaris Fens om mede namens de medeaandeelhouders vast te laten leggen, dat de Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van Zeep- en Glycerine- fabrieken was ontbonden.(7) Voor zover bekend heeft uw grootvader twee hypotheken
verstrekt, waarvan ik niet verwacht dat ze zijn afgelost. Zijn strop zal dan f 18.000,- zijn geweest. De in 1908 opgerichte vennootschap heeft vermoedelijk, afgezien van het honorarium van de notaris, geen geld gekost. Noten:1 SARE,
