1993: Startte priestervorming aan het Groot Seminarie te Brugge
1894: Redacteur van het studentenblad "de Vlagge"
6.10.1896: aanstelling tot leraar poëzie, Duits, geschiedenis en kunstgeschiedenis in het college van Tielt
12.6.1897: priester gewijd te Brugge maar blijft te Tielt tot 1911.
4.11.1911: aanstelling tot kapelaan te Alveringem
Trok zich het lot aan van de Vlaamse frontsoldaat tijdens de eerste WO en zette zich in tegen de verfransing.
1936: ontvangt de Rembrandtprijs , toegekend door de universiteit van Hamburg
1937: eredoctoraat in de wijsbegeerte en letteren aan de universiteit van Leuven
4.1939: eervolle opruststelling als kapelaan te Alveringem.
6.11.1940: Aangesteld door de Duitse bezetter als Voorzitter van de Vlaamse Kultuurraad
Geestelijke leider van de Vlaamse Oostfrontsoldaat
1941: voert actief propaganda en werfde voor het Vlaams Legioen (Vlaamse Oostfrontstrijders)
1943: eredoctoraat van de universiteiten te Jena en Keulen
7.1944: onderhoud met SS-Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler, bij dewelke hij de Vlaamse eigenheid wilde verdedigen.
1944: een SS-eenheid helpt hem eind augustus naar Duitsland te ontvluchten en hij vestigt zich na een lange zwerftocht te Sollbad Hall in Tirol in Oostenrijk
1946: bij verstek op 11 december door de Krijgsraad van Brugge ter dood veroordeeld
1949: overlijdt te Sollbad Hall aan een hartaanval
1973: zijn stoffelijk overschot wordt bijgezet op de begraafplaats van Alveringem nadat het op 10.5.1973 door de VMO onder leiding van Bert Eriksson te Sollbad Hall werd ontgraven.

Auteur van verschillende werken: "Zeesymphonieën", vier drama's': "Jacob van Artevelde"," Filip van Artevelde", "Judas" en" Ferdinand Verbiest" .verzenbundel "Nocturnen" en de essays "Het Mysterie" en 'Vlaanderen Spectrum".
Was ook creatief als beeldhouwer.
