exerpts from "Het Geslacht Van Steenkiste" by Mr. Johan Roelstraete:

"op 7.2.1519 erkende Regine Keurs, weduwe van Joos van Steenkiste in Gullegem een schuld van 12 lb Par. aan Pieter Huunelion in Kortrijk. gheeraerd Van Steenkiste fs Joos stond borg voor haar.

Jossine Kues, weduwe van Joos Van Steenkiste was in 1530 buitenpoorteres van Kortrijk in Heule.

Ze was wellicht familie van Bernard Kuese fs Rogiers die in 1493 een schuld erkende jegens de kinderen van Roeland van rues en waarvoor de borgen waren Willem de Boozere fs Oliviers en Joos Van Steenkiste fs Wouters.
(2) Lauwereins Keuse fs Bernaert erkende een schuld tegenoverJackeminkin Vander Steenkiste fs Zeghers van 6 lb 12 s. . zijn vader Bernaert Keuse fs Wouters stond hiervoor borg. (3) Bernaert Kuese fs Wouters was van Menen. We zien dat in de akte waarin hij een schuld erkent jegens Vincent de Pape in Menen. borgen waren Lauwereins Kuese fs Bernaert in Geluwe en roeger en Jacob Kuese Bernaerts kinderen in Menen. (4) In 1441 leefde priester Pieter van den aposelrye, dit Keuse (5).
