S.E.T. (Sportvereniging Eras Tilburg, bedoeld voor de medewerkers van de fabriek H. Eras & Zn, later bekend als Strijdt en Triomfeert) fuseerde op 1-7-2009 met voetbalclub J.P.S. tot NORDEA. Koos Eras was jarenlang bestuurslid van de voetbalvereniging (wv 25 jaar penningmeester) en werd voor zijn verdiensten beloond met het erelidmaatschap. De voetbalvereniging haalde op een haar na de 1e klasse van de competie. SET voetbalde de laatste jaren op het naar Koos Eras vernoemde sportpark aan de Goirkekanaaldijk 175 te Tilburg.

Ik heb vroeger in niet bewaard gebleven krantenartikelen thuis gelezen, , waaruit mij bleek, dat mijn vader deelnemer was aan de ralley van Monte Carlo, samen met M.A.M. Caspanni, eveneens uit Tilburg. Ik vond in krantenartikelen, dat Jacobus(Koos) Eras o.a deelnam aan
-de Brabant grensrit van 1935 2e plaats na de bekende Bakker Schut uit Voorburg;
- in 1950 aan de ralley van Monte Carlo met start in Oslo (met A.W. v Boxtel). Zij behoorden tot de 23 ! uitvallende Nederlandse teams (van de 57). Zie De Waarheid 24-1-1950 en ook de Nieuwe Tilburgse Koerier v 12-17-20-21-24-25-26-28-30-31 Januari en 2 Februari 1950. (evt ook 07-11-1950 )
