ALIA Albert /de Louvai/, Saint Albert
elected prince-bishop of Liège in 1191. His election was aproved by the pope but contested by the emperor Henry VI, who backed an other candidate : Lotharius.
Henry VI sent some of his men to Reims and they surprised Albert 1202 when he was on his way to the abbey of Saint Rémi and killed him.
Lotharius was excommunicated and Henry VI had to repent

has been canonised "St Adalbertus"
