Background and history presently being comiled by a Belgian researcher, Jozef Verlinden, and family members.

Was a noted geologist and artist. Art works held in many State collections in Australia with references at National Library, State Museums, and the Adolf Basser Collection.

Sailed in 1913 with the SS Aurora (2nd sailing) to The Antarctic as a member of the "Mawson" Expedition/s. Recognised geologist / artist / photographer. Listed in Mawson's book: "The Home of the Blizzard" (William Heinemann, London, 1915 - ISBN 0 85179 334 7) as a "marine artist".
