Notes about Anna Maria van Eijken

: Op oudejaarsnacht 1936 brandde de molen aan de Nieuwe Rielseweg geheel uit. De molen werd gebouwd in 1898 door Lenard Kouwenberg. In 1936 verkocht Kouwenberg de molen aan Pauw van Rijswijk, geboren te Hilvarenbeek op 27 april 1907. De molen is na de brand herbouwd door Van Tartwijk uit Eindhoven.

Lenard Kouwenberg zag eind 19e eeuw brood in de exploitatie van een tweede windgraanmolen in Goirle. Tussen 18 maart en 21 november 1898 werd de molen in recordtempo gebouwd. Voor het binnenwerk werd gebruik gemaakt van onderdelen van een gesloopte 17e-eeuwse molen in Lieshout.
In het 1936 verkocht Kouwenberg de molen aan Paul van Rijswijk zoon van de molenaar uit Hilvarenbeek (vandaar de kenmerkende, Arabisch uitziende, beschildering boven de ramen van zowel de Goolse als de Beekse molen). In de oudejaarsnacht van 1936/1937 brandde de molen, door een onverklaarbare oorzaak, af. Kort daarop werd de molen herbouwd en ging de jonge mulder zowel met wind- en motorkracht malen. Het gaandewerk dat bij deze herbouw is aangebracht, is afkomstig uit Stiphout. Maar ook deze molen was niet nieuw toen hij gebouwd werd: enkele balken in de molen zijn waarschijnlijk delen van raamstijlen van een zaagmolen geweest. echter: het spoorwiel werd omstreeks 1968 vervangen door een wiel, afkomstig van de Napoleonsmolen in Hamont. Het koppel elektrisch aangedreven stenen is afkomstig van de Heimolen te Bosschenhoofd. De zwart geblakerde molenromp schoonmaken was een heel karwei en werd daarom wit geschilderd. Op het eind van de oorlog kwam Pauke van Rijswijk om het leven toen hij met paard en wagen op een Duitse landmijn reed. Zijn knecht, Jo de Wilde, ook met paard en wagen, die voor hem reed, bleef ongedeerd. Na de oorlog trouwt Jo met de weduwe van Rijswijk en werd zo de nieuwe molenaar. In 1976 kocht de gemeente Goirle de molen van de familie de Wilde en werd daarna gerestaureerd. De stichting "Goirlese Akkermolens" beheerd en bemaald met vrijwilligers nu de molen.
