In het boek "Hilvarenbeek onder de hertog en de generaliteit" vermeld Adriaenssen op pag 302, dat GOISSEN DE WITH 'primus' van Leuven was. Hij promoveerde op 14 februari 1576 op de eerste plaats tot licentiaat in de vrije kunsten. Zijn ouders waren Willem Janss de With, schepen van Hilvarenbeek, en Aleyt Cornelis Melis; zij woonden aan de Grote Westerwijk. Het laatst werd mr. Goissen gezien in 1579. Over zijn loopbaan is niets bekend, aldus Adriaenssen.
