Niclaes Cornelis van Wijck
, ballenmaker en schepen van
de heerlijkheid Tilburg en Goirle, werd te Goirle gedoopt
in december 1642. Als sinjeur Claes van Wijck woonde hij
daar aan de 'Gebuerheuvel'. Na het kontrakt met Velsen ging
Claes een overeenkomst aan met sr Jan Boesers te Borgerhout, die in 1683 verklaarde „verkocht te hebben aen seigneur Niclaes van Wijck tot Goirle alle alsulcke ballen, sijnde
een soort genaemt middelballen, als hij vercooper sal maeken ende laten maeken binnen een jaer naer datum deses, op
heden aenvanck nemende, op conditie dat de cooper sal aennemen alle de ballen, te weten middelballen, die de vercooper
sal maeken onder sijne directie binnen den voorschreven tijden. Ende sal de cooper gehouden sijn voorschreven ballen
te ontfangen ten huijse van vercooper binnen Borgerhout."
Claes van Wijck trouwde met Adriaentje Hoosmans, dochter
van Bastiaen Jan Hoosmans en van Petronella Jan Adriaen
Marcelis. Zijn nalatenschap werd in 1707 gedeeld door Michiel Beerwinckels, vader en voogd van zijn twee onmondige
kinderen bij wijlen Cornelia van Wijck, en Helena van Wijck,
kwezel en kosteres.9
