Op de foto de gebroeders Van de Ven o.a. Adam die trouwde met een Duitse dienstbode. Zij woonden aan de Tilburgseweg. De vrouw van Adam was goed fout tijdens de oorlog en is daarna met haar drie kinderen opgepakt. De zoon is vermoord? in Vught. De vrouw van Adam is later in Goirle van de trap gevallen en in de armen van haar overbuurvrouw. In de buurt zongen ze later: Adam had veel verdriet, waarom dat wist hij niet" enz. De anderen Van de Vennen zijn ongehuwd gebleven en woonden ook aan de Tilburgseweg naast Joke Appels. Ze waren befaamd omdat zij kippen met "het snot" konden genezen en vooral Kiske van de Ven werd in Goirle "de kiependokter"genoemd.
