Petrus Josephus Maria van Besouw werd geboren te Goirle op 23 augustus 1891 als zoon van Jos van Besouw, bakker en handelaar in vlas, jute en katoengarens, en Johanna Smulders. Hij werd priester in de congregatie van de HH. Harten en kreeg de kloosternaam pater Philibertus. Hij overleed aan de Spaanse griep in Vierlingsbeek op 22 februari 1919.
