Cornelis Josephus Spierings, schoenmaker van beroep, geboren op 15 maart 1880 en trouwde op 14 april 1913 op 33 jarige leeftijd met Maria van Osch, fabrieksarbeidster van beroep, die op 14 juni 1884 in Goirle was geboren. Zij gingen wonen in de Kloosterstraat no.18 en Joseph had daar een schoenmakerij. Hij woonde naast zijn twee ongehuwde zussen Maria en Elisabeth die daar een snoepwinkeltje hadden. Deze oude huisjes op de hoek van de Thomas van Diessenstraat zijn tussen 1950 en 1960 afgebroken.

Cornelis Josephus overleed op 05-11-1937 na te zijn aangereden door een auto, en zijn vrouw Maria van Osch overleed aan borstkanker op 18-03-1942.
