Aktenummer5Toen hij trouwde met Catharina Bennaerts was Peerke Eijsermans wever van beroep en hij werkte bij Van Puijenbroek (HAVEP), aan de Bergstraat in Goirle. Later werd hij daar machinist en bediende de stoommachine waarmee electriciteit werd opgewekt. Hij was er trots op dat hij dat kon. Peerke was een pittig manneke, klein van stuk en meestal met een zwart petje op zijn hoofd en in een groen jasje van "ons fabriek" zoals hij steeds liet weten. Hij woonde in de Fabriekstraat in Goirle, slechts 1 woning verwijderd van zijn jongere broer Jan Eijsermans. Zijn eerste vrouw (Catharina Bernaerts) overleed reeds na twee jaar huwelijk op 21-jarige leeftijd. Hun zoontje Jacobus Eijsermans stierf enkele weken later, nauwelijk 3 maanden oud. Enkele jaren na zijn huwelijk had Peerke dus al zijn vrouw en enige kind verloren.

Toen Peerke Eijsermans al de leeftijd van 83 jaar had bereikt kocht hij een nieuwe Engelse sportfiets, waarmee hij in Goirle parmantig rondfietste. Peerke had (zoals toen gebruikelijk) 4 jaren onderwijs genoten op de Openbare School aan de Schoolstraat in Goirle, destijds de enige school in Goirle. Van de bovenmeester moesten de leerlingen alle van oorsprong Franse woorden uitspreken zoals zij geschreven waren.
Peerke had het dan bijvoorbeeld steeds over trotojer in plaats van trottoir. Hij bezocht vaak zijn oudere zus Hanneke Spierings-Eijsermans in de Kloosterstraat te Goirle en had daar vaak vinnige discussies met Janus Spierings (Den Atlas) die daar ook vaak kwam. Als die dan zei "Dè is nie woar Peer, het is trottoir" begon de heibel weer op gang te komen.

Toen zijn vader (Drik Eijsermans) voor de tweede maal trouwde met de weduwe Marie de Rooij, bracht die een aantal kinderen mee uit haar eerste huwelijk. De toen 22-jarige Peerke was al aan het sparen voor zijn uitzet en zou samen met zijn broers gezegd hebben "Daar gaan wij niet voor werken" en hij is samen met zijn broers het huis uitgegaan, vooral ook omdat zij met hun stiefmoeder niet goed konden opschieten.
Peerke Eijsermans en zijn jongere broer Jantje Eijsermans hebben nog een aantal jaren bij hun oudere zus Hanneke Eijsermans ingewoond voor zij trouwden.
