Pieter van der Molen woont vanaf ongeveer 1915 samen met zijn vrouw Willempje Jalink en acht kinderen in bedoeld werkmanshuisje met de naam Carosito. De kinderen slapen op zolder, op de lange regel (= allemaal naast elkaar). Het gezin heeft daarvoor in een van de buitendijkse huisjes gewoond, die in 1916 worden gesloopt (zie 1916).
Pieter van der Molen is op dat moment knecht bij boer Ham. In maart 1927 overlijdt hij plotseling op 44-jarige leeftijd in het huisje aan een hartaanval. Zijn echtgenote Willempje blijft met acht jonge kinderen achter.
