Notes about Adriaen Jansz TROOST

De familie Troost is terug in de tijd te traceren tot ongeveer 1500. Toendertijd leefde men rond Heinenoord. Bij verpachtingen in de polder Oost Zomerland aldaar, vinden we de volgende Troosten: Adriaen Ingensz de Jonge, Bastiaan Adriaensz, Jan Adriaens. Meerdere Troosten hebben destijds vooraanstaande posities bekleed. Zo waren van 1595 tot 1675 een zestal Troosten Schepen van Heinenoord. Een schepen was toen, wat we nu een burgemeester zouden noemen. Veel van de Troosten van destijds hadden een koopmansgeest. Jacob (1647) levert goederen aan de kerk, kleding aan het weeshuis, textiel voor de armen enz. Nadien zijn er nog meerdere Troosten geweest met koopmansgeest. Zo waren er: Troosten dorsmachines, IJshandel, Veehandel van Jan (1900), Leen Troost Transport in den Haag, opoe Groen met haar café, Dana café etc.
