Notes about Arent Jansz. Brantjes

Landbouwer, veehouder en grondbezitter, het zijn rijke boeren de Brantjes. Aanvankelijk woonde hij
in de Schermer, later is hij op de hofstede Oversaen gaan wonen en ten slotte op een hofstede aan
de Jisperweg in de Beemster. In 1756 kochten Jan en Arent Brantjes de kavels 59 en 60 in de
Starnmeer elk groot 10 morgen met daarop de hofstede Oversaen. In 1785 was Jan volledig eigenaar
van dit stuk grond. In 1764 kochten Jan en Arent de binnekavels 51, groot bijna 20 morgen in de
Beemster met daarop gelegen huijsinge aan de oostzijde van de Jisperweg op de hoek van de
Hobredeweg. In 1787 was dit landgoed volledig eigendom van Arent en na zijn overlijden verefde
het op Niesje, zijn dochter te Edam. In 1775 had Arent ook nog 15 morgen land gekocht in
binnekavel 22 aan de Jisperweg, dit goed verefde op zijn dochter Maartje.
