11. Stephan I van Varasc (de Bourgogne). Geboren ca 1055 en gestorven 27 mei 1102 in Palestina. Sommige bronnen geven aan dat hij vermoord is, als plaats van zijn laatste adem wordt behalve Ashkalon ook Ramah genoemd. Ramah is noog steeds een bestaande gemeenschap, Ashkalon is nu een tel, een archeologische vindplaats. Hij was gehuwd met Beatrix van Leuven, dochter van Hendrik III van Leuven en Gertrud van Vlaanderen. Uit dit huwelijk: a. Reinald III van Bourgogne, * ca 1090, overl. 20/22 januari 1148. Zie 12 b. Willem IV, Graaf van Auxonne, * 1090/1095, overl. 1155, gehuwd met Pontia van Traves. c. Elisabeth van Varasc? * 1090/1095, overl. na 1125. Gehuwd met Hugo I van Champagne d. Margarethe? van Macon, * ca 1100, overl. (26.1/8.2) 1164
