NOTE:Dat hij rond 1563 geboren werd moge blijken uit een acte uit het RA Mijnsheerenland d.d. 30 Jan 1634, waarin zijn leeftijd opgegeven werd als "out in de tseventich jaeren". Op pagina N2 van het boek Kruithof bij het CBG vindt u de plattegrond van de Laurentiuskerk te Mijnsheerenland waar onder zerk 32 Adriaen is begraven. Het opschrift op zerk 32, met een afmeting van 197x69,5cm, luidt: "Hiet leit begraven Aderyan Dircksen KRUITHOF sterft de. 6 augusty anno 1647. Hier leit begraven Lintien CORNELIS de huis-vouw van Adriae. Dircksen KRUITHOF si sterft den 9 februwarus anno 1758. Hier leyt begraven Dircksen Teunnissen KRUITHOF sterft den 1 iunius 1670". Aryen woonde aan de Reedijk, de noordgrens van Mijnsheerenland. Hij kocht vele malen land, vooral in de nieuwe Zomerlandspolder. Het ambt van Heilige Geest(=armen)meester weigerde hij tot 1628 te aanvaarden, waarschijnlijk omdat er meer na- dan voordelen aan zaten. Heilige armmeester 1628. Testament gemaakt te Dordrecht op 25 Jan 1641 voor notaris JAGER van Dordrecht.
