Woonde Vreewijk, Rotterdam-Zuid. NH. Beroep: kunstboekbinder en leraar aan de Academie voor
Beeldende Kunst. Mede-oprichter van de Grafische School te Rotterdam. Chef binderij en drukkerij
bij de Nederlandsche Handels Maatschappij (NHM, de latere ABN-AMRO-bank). Na 25 jaar NHM op de
Blaak overreden en tengevolge daarvan overleden. Tijdens militaire dienstplicht bevorderd tot
sergeant. Was in het verzet tijdens de tweede wereldoorlog in R'dam Zuid. Indertijd zeer bekend
als kunstboekbinder, werk van hem is o.a. te zien in het Letterkundig Museum te Den Haag, waar
hij veel contacten met de toenmalige conservator had (Meermanno-Westreenianum). Voerde ook
opdrachten uit voor de Holland-Amerika Lijn en een gedenkboek van Rotterdam t.b.v. koningin
Juliana.
