Notes about Rinnert Machiel Draaisma

Op 30 mei 1961 verdwijnt de KLM DC-8 PH-DCL "Fridtjof Nansen", enkele minuten na het vertrek uit Lissabon uit de ether. Het wrak wordt later in de Atlantische Oceaan, bij de monding van de Taag gevonden. Alle 61 inzittenden komen om het leven. De oorzaak van het ongeval wordt nooit gevonden.
Aan boord bevonden zich 61 personen: 14 bemanningsleden en 47 passagiers. Geen van hen overleefde de ramp. Identificatie van de stoffelijke resten die werden geborgen was vrijwel onmogelijk.

Onder de 47 passagiers bevonden zich geen Nederlanders. De slachtoffers kwamen uit Venezuela, Italië, Spanje, Portugal, Chili en Frankrijk.
De passagiers waren voor een deel reeds in Romeof in Madrid ingestapt; 7 waren in Lissabon aan boord gegaan.


Rinnert Machiel Draaisma (Semarang/Indonesia, 28 maart 1917) werkte sinds 1 november 1940 bij de KLM, was gehuwd, had drie kinderen en woonde in Haarlem.
