urk. 1366-1438, 1387 Drost (Amtmann) zu Wittlage, 1390 gelobt er, das Haus, welches er auf der Ippenburg errichten wolle, nicht aus Stein zu bauen, es dem Bischof v. Osnabrück stets offen zu halten und im Verkaufsfall zuerst diesem anzubieten, auch ohne dessen Genehmigung keinen Weg durch das Bruch anzulegen, verkauft 1393 mit Ehefrau Rixe und Töchtern Goste, Grete und Katharina ein Gut an das Kloster Quernheim, 1402 und 1412 belehnt mit der Hälfte der Niederburg Hünnefeld, 1421 stiftet und dotiert er im Verein mit seiner Frau Rixa von Haren und seinem Sohn Albert eine neue Kapelle in Ippenburg, die anscheinend der Hl. Jungfrau Maria und dem Hl. Georg geweiht wurde, der Bf. v. Osnabrück bestätigte am 31.10.1421 diese Stiftung, später geriet er mit dem Bf. v. Osnabrück in
Streitigkeiten, in deren Verlauf dieser die Ippenburg belagerte, schließlich jedoch wieder abziehen musste, ohne sie eingenommen zu haben, an
die Belagerung erionnern noch die in der Nähe von Ippenburg belegene, aus zweifachem Wall und Graben bestehende sog. Ippenschanze; aus diesem
oder ander Anlass wurde Johann vom Papst mit dem Bann belegt, er soll darin gestorben und deswegen nicht in der Kirche, sondern auf einem Felde neben der Ippenburg begraben worden sein, bis ihm nach 11 Jahren gegen Entrichtung einer Busse von 500 Talern Absolution erteilt und er dannin der Kirche beigesetzt wurde, 1437 tauscht er mit einer Kirche in Osnabrück zwei Hörige.
