Ramiro II, voorbestemd voor het kloosterwezen en opgeleid in het benedictijnenklooster van St-Pons-de-Thomieres, was abt van Sahagun (1112/13), bisschoppelijk gekozen van Burgos (eind 1114-1116) en van Pamplona (rond 1117), verbleef rond 1120 in de priorij van San Pedro el Viejo, dieafhing van St-Pons, en werd medio 1314 door Alfonso I benoemd tot bisschop van Roda-Barbasto. Toen deze even later zonder nakomelingen stierf(september 1134), werd Ramiro II door een vergadering van de Aragoneseadel in Jaca tot koning gekozen voordat hij de wijding had ontvangen en bezit had genomen van zijn bisdom. Kg. v. Aragon 1134-1137 (deed afstand ten gunste van zijn dochter)

Für den geistlichen Stand bestimmt, im Benediktinerkloster St-Pons-de-Thomieres erzogen, war Ramiro II. Abt von Sahagun (1112/13), Bischofselekt von Burgos (Ende 1114-1116) und von Pamplona (um 1117), weilte gegen1120 im von St-Pons abhängigen Priorat San Pedro el Viejo und wurde Mitte 1134 durch Alfons I. zum Bischof von Roda-Barbasto bestimmt. Als dieser wenig später ohne Nachkommen starb (September 1134), wurde Ramiro II., bevor er die Weihe erhalten und sein Bistum in Besitz genommen hatte, durch eine Versammlung des aragonesischen Adels in Jaca zum König gewählt. Kg. v. Aragon 1134-1137 (abgedankt zugunsten seiner Tochter)
