Notes about Eibert (Eib) van Beek

Hij vertrok, 14 jaar oud, naar Amersfoort op 17 dec 1894. Hij was bakker sinds 1907 (ws al eerder) tot in 1945. Eind jaren 40 zijn ze verhuisd naar het Dreyershofje en ca. 1950 naar een bejaardenhuisje, Mendelssohnstraat 8. Begin 2003 was dit blokje van vier huizen verlaten en dichtgetimmerd.
Op het Havik waren in 1923 meer neringdoenden, zoals A. Vonk, bakker op nr. 21 en S.H. Massa, slijter, op nr. 41.
Bij de loting voor de Nationale Militie had hij nr. 13 ontvangen "dat buiten oproeping gebleven zijnde, hem tot geen dienst heeft verplicht".
