Het echtpaar woonde te Hillensberg (D). Hun door de ouders gearrangeerde huwelijk is kinderloos gebleven. Toen de geallieerden aan het einde van de 2e wereldoorlog bevel gaven tot evacuering van Hillensberg en omliggende plaatsen mocht het echtpaar met zijn vee en wat andere bezittingen zijn toevlucht nemen bij de familie in Schinveld (bij Trieneke's broers Joseph en Arnold Diederen) in plaats van naar Vught te moeten, omdat beiden immers de Nederlandse nationaliteit bezaten. Trieneke wilde niet meer terugkeren naar Hillensberg toen dat weer mogelijk was. Ze had vernomen dat het interieur van hun boerderij in Hillensberg door gealliëerde soldaten (Engelsen) verwoest was. Ze is in maart 1945 in het ziekenhuis te Heerlen van zwaarmoedigheid gestorven.
