Bij zijn doop werd de familienaam geschreven als Dirx, in het trouwboek van de pastoor als Dirks, en in het begraafboek van de pastoor als Dirckx. De koster schreef in het doodboek echter: "1788 den 3 Augst: is overleden Arnoldus Dirkx. Laat vrou en kinderen na". Hij kreeg een gezongen uitvaartmis.
