Als getuigen op de geboorteakte wordt genoemd Franciscus Teunissen, 36 jaar en Johannes Maas, 45 jaar, beiden bode in het Binnengasthuis. Een aantekening op de akte geeft aan, dat Lodewijk op 4 november 1880 bij het huwelijk van Hilke Lodewijks en Pieter de Vries wordt erkend. Het ouderlijk huwelijk wordt gesloten in de gemeente (den) Helder.

    Het overlijden is aangegeven door Christina Smit, oud 45 jaar. Op het bidprentje wordt vermeld dat Lodewijk de Vries zijn dierbare echtgenote met 17 jaar overleefde. Zijn echtgenote die hiermee bedoeld wordt is Anna Petronella Dijst die op 23 juni 1941 overleden. Kijkend naar de overlijdensakte blijkt dat Lodewijk de Vries ook getrouwd is geweest met Hendrica Catharina Verplak. Dat is niet vóór zijn huwelijk met Anna Petronella Dijst. Hij is dan 19 jaar en de huwelijksakte vermeldt niet dat hij weduwnaar is. Hij is dus kennelijk na het overlijden van zijn echtgenote Anna Petronella Dijst opnieuw getrouwd. Maar waarom wordt dan in het bidprentje daar niets over gezegd, maar alleen verwezen naar 'zijn dierbare echtgenote' die hij met 17 jaar overleefde?????.
