Notes about Laurentius de Voijs

Van Lourens de Voijs is (tot nu toe) geen verdere gegevens bekend. Wanneer zijn dochter Maria de Voijs in 1812 wordt geboren, wordt in haar geboorteakte geen leeftijd van de vader vermeld. Het overlijden van zijn echtgenote, Lamberta Wesselina Smit in 1825 heeft hij zelf aangegeven. Hij is dan 59 jaar. Dit houdt in dat hij omstreeks 1766 is geboren. Bij het huwelijk van zijn dochter Maria de Voijs zijn beide ouders overlijden. Bij de huwelijks bijlagen van dat huwelijk zijn geen overlijdensextracten van de ouders aanwezig. In 1808 wordt gedoopt Laurentius de Voijs, zoon van Petrus de Voijs en Johanna Schruijers. Als getuigen zijn aanwezig Laurentius de Voijs en Lamberta Smit. Hert is daarom aannemelijk dat de volledige voornaam van Lourens de Voijs Laurentius is. Dus Laurentius de Voijs. Het is dus mogelijk, dat Lourens zijn roepnaam is. Zijn achternaam wordt bij de geboorte van zijn dochter Maria en haar huwelijk geschreven als de Vois. Bij het overlijden van zijn echtgenote wordt zijn achternaam geschreven als de Voijs. Alle aktes waar dit nodig is, heeft hij niet ondertekend, omdat hij niet kan schrijven. Het is ook mogelijk, dat Petrus de Voijs/Vois, gedoopt 1764, een broer is van Laurentius/Lourens.
