Hendrikus Adrianus van Poorten is op 13 jarige leeftijd opgenomen in het psychiatrische inrichting St. Joseph in Heel en Panheel. Op 18 jarige leeftijd, 29 september 1917, vertrekt hij naar de psychiatrische inrichting in Bloemendaal.
