De aangifte is pas gedaan op 5 mei 1863. Kennelijk kwam men tot de ontdekking, dat er van haar geboorte geen aangifte was gedaan. In het verslag van de rechtbank van Haarlem van april 1863 vermeldt de rechtbank, dat de plicht tot het doen van geboorteaangifte berust bij de vroedvrouw. De vroedvrouw heeft dit nagelaten en heeft van de rechtbank daarvoor een gevangenisstraf gekregen. De rechtbank vindt het in het belang van de dochter en de moeder dat er een aangifte wordt opgenomen. De rechtbank geeft de ambtenaar van de Burgerlijke Stand in de Haarlemmermeer opdracht alsnog een geboorteaangifte op te maken. In de geboorteaangifte neemt de ambtenaar het volledige verslag van de rechtbank over.
