Teunis Jansz de Jager, zoon van Jan Gijse de Jager en Maria Claasse de Wit. Hij is gedoopt op 26-08-1714 in Scheveningen. Teunis is overleden, 72 jaar oud. Hij is begraven op 21-04-1787 in Scheveningen. Teunis:


(1) trouwde, 24 jaar oud, op 17-05-1739 in Scheveningen met Arentje Chiele Tasman, 22 jaar oud. Zij is een dochter van Michiel Arensz (Giel) Tasman [ en Belijtje Arijense (Beelitie) Dijkhuijzen. Zij is gedoopt op 25-04-1717 in Scheveningen. Arentje is overleden, 39 jaar oud (oorzaak: in kraambed). Zij is begraven op 03-01-1757 in Scheveningen.


(2) trouwde, 45 jaar oud, op 03-08-1760 in Scheveningen met Dirkje Chiele den Heijer, 40 jaar oud. Zij is een dochter van Michiel Maartense den Heijer en Jakobje Gijse Korving. Zij is gedoopt op 07-04-1720 in Scheveningen. Dirkje is overleden, 76 jaar oud. Zij is begraven op 14-10-1796 in Scheveningen. Zij is weduwe van Cornelis Dominicus den Heijer (1720-1753), met wie zij trouwde op 29-05-1746 in Scheveningen.

Tot aan 1800 zou het aantal huizen daarna praktisch constant blijven en de 250 niet overschrijden. De bevolking telde in de 17de eeuw nog geen 1000 zielen. Het dorp kreeg een nieuwe impuls nadat in1665 op initiatief van Constantijn Huygens tussen Den Haag en Scheveningen een uitstekend begaanbare straatweg was aangelegd. Tot dan toe hadden twee mulle zandpaden voor een gebrekkige verbinding gezorgd.


 



Scheveningen werd nu, hoe bescheiden ook, meer dan voorheen een uitgaansoord voor de Hagenaars. In 1680 werden er al zeven herbergen en wijnhuizen geteld, en in de Keizerstraat verschenen nerinkjesmet souvenirs en eetwaren. Mogelijk ligt hier een gedeeltelijke een verklaring voor de groei van het aantal inwoners, dat van 2000 in 1750 toenam tot 4000 in 1825.
