Het is niet 100% zeker een vaststaand feit dat Jan de zoon is van Jurrien. Het blijkt namelijk dat zijn zoon Georgius ook naar de vader van Aeltje genoemd kan zijn, zijn naam was namelijk ook Jurrien!
