Vanaf zijn 17e getroffen door een ziekte, die hem zijn levenlang zou blijven achtervolgen. Bleef studeren en werken als rector.

Diepe indruk als 17 jarige op zijn leermeesters en vele geleerde mannen en o.a. vooral de goedkeuring van de beroemde DE BOSCH, VAN LENNEP EN VAN SWINDEN.

Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; background-color: #f7f7f7;">ontving een klassieke opvoeding en werd rector der latijnsche school te Oldenzaal en te Arnhem, waar hij den 1 Maart 1835 in den ouderdom van 48 jaren ontsliep. De corrector Waardenburg hield eene lijkrede over hem; Zijne Prolusiones worden om haar zuiver latijn zeer geprezen.
