In de familie ging het gerucht dat het echtpaar Eijck-Geraets zowel voor de wet als voor de kerk gescheiden zou zijn, maar ik heb niets daaromtrent gevonden; ca.1919 zijn ze wel uit elkaar gegaan; Maria Helena Geraets, onderwijzeres, heeft daarna bij de familie rondgezworven en is tenslotte beland bij zijn tante Mia in Amstenrade en aldaar overleden op 5 april 1960.
