De achternaam is vaders voornaam

Waarschijnlijk verhuist het gezin van Gijsbert Corstiaen ( hij, zijn vrouw en zijn twee zonen ) in 1635 vanuit Oisterwijk e.o naar de Roestelberg te Kaatsheuvel. [ TdK ]

Op 12-04-1635 koopt Ghijsbert Corstiaenssen: "eene steede lants metter timmeringe daerop staende en erfenissen soe van acker, weye als heyelanden daeraen leggende met alle wallen, graeven, canten ende houtwasschen daertoe behoerende, gelegen binnen der herlicheyt Venloon te plaetse genoempt Roestelberg". < ORA LopZ no.67 (12-04-1635) >

Die "steede lants metter timmeringe" wil zeggen dat hij een stuk grond koopt met een gebouw of gebouwen erop, een boerderijtje in dit geval. Naast allerlei erfelijke lasten kost het hem 472 gulden en 10 stuivers. Hij dient het in drie termijnen te betalen. Driehonderd gulden bij de overdracht, na een jaar de helft van het resterende bedrag en weer een jaar later nog eens 86 gulden en 5 stuivers.

Gijsbert zelf heeft niet lang mogen genieten van zijn gekochte bedrijfje. Als er op 27 december 1636 een termijn wordt betaald, blijkt hij inmiddels te zijn overleden en worden de schulden afbetaald door zijn vrouw Adriaentken.
