Antonij werd geboren op boerderij Neerhof in de buurtschap Dale bij Aalten en gedoopt als Tonis Neerhof op 02-04-1671 in Aalten en overleed op 13-06-1759 in Varsseveld. Hij woonde na zijn huwelijk met Swenneken op boederij Haesencamp (ook genaamd de Wagtmeester), Toldijk 16, Silvolde. Hij was een zoon van Hendrick Neerhof en Deve te Ganckvoort op boerderij Neerhof in Dale. Hij trouwde op 19-02-1705 in Bocholt met Swenneken Vrieseler (ws dochter van Bernt Vrieselaar en Derxken Harterinck genaamd Becking op boerderij de Keurhorst in Varsseveld). Swenneken overleed op 14-06-1773 in Varsseveld. Antonij was eerder getrouwd met Geertjen Elbrinck (zij wordt genoemd als vrouw van Tunnis Neerhof in een testamentaire beschikking in 1693 van de moeder van Antonij, Deve te Ganckvoort; bron: Volontair Protocol Bredevoort 12-09-1693).
In de 18e eeuw werd veel aan houtproduktie gedaan. Om te voorkomen dat hout werd gestolen werden wachtlieden aangesteld; vermoedelijk had Antonij Neerhof als ‘wachtmeester’ een dergelijke functie.
De moeder van Antonie, Deve te Ganckvoort, werd geboren op boerderij Gantvoort in de buurtschap Barlo bij Aalten als dochter van Thoebe te Hondorp genannt ten Gantforth en Lotte te Welpshof.
