Cornelis Schonis en zijn vrouw Anna van Hulten wonen in Tilburg. Cornelis staat te boek eerst als schoenmaker, later als schoenfabrikant.
Dit is de eerste schoenmaker in de familie. De digitale stamboom van de familie Hoeben geeft aan dat Cornelis nog acht andere kinderen
moet hebben gehad waarvan niet één ouder wordt dan een jaar of zes. In de archieven van het Regionaal historisch Centrum Tilburg
zijn van deze kinderen echter geen gegevens teruggevonden.

Cornelis krijgt twee dochters die beiden trouwen in Tilburg. Van beiden zijn geen kinderen bekend.
Zeer opvallend is de scheiding van dochter Petronella in 1947 (zij moet toen minstens ouder dan zestig jaar geweest zijn!).
