Meer dan 45 jaren verkondigde hij in alle eenvoud doorzijn zang de eer en glorie van God. Hij was eenvoudig en oprecht,vreesde God en eerbiedigde alle gezag. De smarten des doods hebben hemomringd, benauwdheid en pijn heeft hij ondervonden, maar den naam desHeeren heeft hij aangeroepen. Waarom was mijn ziekte zonder hulp enongeneesbaar? Omdat Gij, o God met mij gehandeld hebt, volgens Uwen wil.
Mijne dierbare echtgenoote en kinderen, dient God in alle oprechtheid enwaarheid, werpt al uwe zorg op Hem en bidt voor mij. Onze Vader - WeesGegroet. (Th. Buis, koster, Zoetermeer)
