Behoorde tot de vetkopers; woonde te Witmarsum; genoemd bij een geschil met het Haskerconvent in OFO-I-31 d.d. 28-10-1419.
Tjaert verdreef in 1420 de Hollanders met een list uit Makkum.
OFO I-33 d.d. 1420: hij verkrijgt Sibaldagoed te Arum, dat Douwe (zijn broer ?) van diens vader had geërfd.

Beiden woonachtig in Marssum.
Voordat het huidige Poptaslot (Heringastate) werd gebouwd hadden zij een stenen huis (stins) op de bestaande locatie.
Dit was bezit van de familie Juwsma.
