In de periode 1572-1575 was Jaob uitgeweken en werd genoemd in de registers van de Rekenkamers ter Auditie. Deze kamer hield een kohier bij van de "goederen foecomende eenighe (...) personen vuijte Landen van Holl(an)t en Zeelant deur oirsaecke vande geresene veranderinge ende bevrijdinghe der zelven vijandelijcke verhoonde". Hij stond evenals zijn zwager Hendrick de Raedtaan de zijde van de Spanjaarden. Dit belette hun niet om enkele jaren later hun oude bestaan in Holland weer op te nemen!!

Was poorter van Dordrecht en woonde in het grefelijk landgoed 't Huys Leeuwenburg, dat na jet overlijden van zijn vader reeds in 1556 overgegaan op Jacob. In de ruiten van dit huis zaten indertijd de wapens van de graven van het Beierse huis, terwijl een oude zandstenen schouw in het museum Oud-Dordrecht berust.
