Verklaren op te richten een coöperatieve vereniging met de naam "Coöperatieve Broodbakkerij en Verbruiksvereeniging Ons Belang", te Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, voor een periode van 30 jaar.
De statuten bestaan uit 45 artikelen. Het bestuur bestaat uit 7 leden en 3 commissarissen.
De vereniging drijft voor eigen rekening een broodbakkerij en winkel en werkplaatsen.

Richtten Engelse arbeiders in 1844 al de eerste verbruikscoöperatie op: pas tegen 1900 kwamen ze in Nederland van de grond. Ze verenigden zich in 1905 in een bond. In Nieuwerkerk ging een stel eenvoudige mensen op 11 april 1912 naar de Capelse notaris H.M. de Vos. Voor een testament kwamen ze daar niet! Als niet-kapitalisten zagen ze hun werk als een onderdeel van de klassenstrijd, die de socialisering van de productiemiddelen dichterbij moest brengen. Ze startten de rode verbruikscoöperatie van thans Kerklaan 60 (en nu bewoond door Frans Slappendel). Het waren:

Zij verklaarden op te richten een vereniging met de naam "Coöperatieve Broodbakkerij en Verbruiksvereeniging Ons Belang", te Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, voor een periode van 30 jaar. De statuten bestaan uit 45 artikelen en kunnen nog worden nagelezen op het Gemeentearchief Rotterdam, dat spullen van ook de Capelse notarissen bewaart. Het bestuur bestond uit zeven leden en drie commissarissen. De vereniging dreef voor eigen rekening een broodbakkerij, winkel en werkplaatsen. Kranten meldden begin juli 1912 de aanbesteding van de bakkerij. Bijgaande foto toont dat ze minstens ook koffie en thee verkochten. Dit Nieuwerkerkse plaatje werd trouwens in 2007 opgenomen in de paragraaf 'Verfoeide coöperaties' in het Holland-brede boekje 'Op zoek naar de verdwenen middenstand' van Thimo de Nijs. De Nieuwerkerkse coöperatie concurreerde tegen onder andere… bakker Wim Bos van de hoek Kerklaan/Dorpsstraat, sinds 1919 kruidenier. Zij bleef een vereniging uit de rode familie. Bij het overlijden van (nog steeds) penningmeester Petrusma in 1936 kwam in de krant dat hij ook bestuurslid was van de arbeiderswoningbouwvereniging Ons Huis. Johannes Tom sprak namens dat verband en oud-voorzitter Chris Ames namens de coöperatie. Die plaatste ook een rouwadvertentie: 'Zijn werk voor de Coöperatie was altijd zeer accuraat, vandaar dat zijn arbeid ons altijd tot voorbeeld zal blijven.' Deze coöperatie werd uiteindelijk na de 2e wereldoorlog geprivatiseerd en overgenomen door bakker Van Halm. In 2012 zou de oorspronkelijke Nieuwerkerkse coöperatie dus pas honderd jaar hebben bestaan. Waar die landelijke 120 jaar precies vandaan komt is zelfs niet te vinden op de dito websites van de Coop en aan hun ondernemers evenmin meegedeeld voordat ze op 7 mei klanten verrasten met petit fours. 'Coop Supermarkten bestaat 120 jaar' is de enige historische informatie. (Terzijde: Dirk van den Broek startte in 1953 in Amsterdam de eerste supermarkt.) Een website met wel veel algemene informatie over dit onderwerp is cooperatie-museum.nl. Die vermeldt echter weer niets over het jubileumfeit, terwijl men wel linkt naar coop.nl…. Dat Nationaal Coöperatie Museum in Schiedam (met winkeltje) is wel net zo goed een bezoek waard als de Nieuwerkerkse Coop van Wim Bos. In beide gevallen zijn er ook aardige cassières en moet men niet dènken aan zelfscannende klanten.
