'Deze familie behoort tot de oudste geslachten van Beekbergen, die vermeld wordt met een geslachtsnaam. De naam Brinck komt reeds in 1463 in Beekbergen voor, vermeld wordt dan Jan op ten Brinck. (...) Vaak worden er personen met de naam Brinck vermeld die niet of nog niet te plaatsen zijn. Bij de gesworene forsters van de Lierderen Speldermark in 1606 worden vermeld Jan Brinck den Olde en Jan Brinck den Jongen. Ook in 1631 is er nog sprake van Jan Brinck den Jongen, hij is mogelijk identiek aan [3e generatie] Jan Hermans Brinck.'
