Johanna werd gedoopt op 6 februari 1697 te Rotterdam en trouwde op zesentwintigjarige leeftijd op 30 september 1723 met de achtendertigjarige François van der Hoeven. Het echtpaar kreeg vier kinderen: Dirk Jan, Reinier, Maria18 en Cornelis. Van der Hoeven stamde uit een oud Rotterdams patriciërsgeslacht, zijn ouders waren Dirck van der Hoeven en Maria Hennequin. Hij was advocaat voor het Hof van Holland, directeur van de Maatschappij van Assurantie, Disconteering en Beleeningen te Rotterdam en kassier van de Wisselbank aldaar. In 1745 werden Johanna Leers en François van der Hoeven vrouw en heer van Tienhoven.

Het echtpaar van der Hoeven liet een huis bouwen aan de Rechter Rottekade in Rotterdam, daarvoor werd het ‘Het Huis den Arend’ afgebroken. Het huis werd verkocht na het overlijden van beide echtlieden in 176619. François van der Hoeven overleed op 3 december 1765 en werd in het familiegraf in de Sint-Laurenskerk in Rotterdam begraven. Acht dagen later stierf Johanna Leers. Ook zij werd in het familiegraf begraven.

Op 24 december 1766 vond de definitieve boedelscheiding plaats. Elk van de vier kinderen werd fl 65.600,= toebedeeld!
