Ook hij beschikt, evenals zijn zus Maria en broer Gregorius, over muzikaal talent en krijgt op 01-02-1898 pianoles van de heer Gaillard. Krijgt vanaf 21-11-1898 prive-les van de heer Bakker en gaat niet meer naar school.


Maar evenals zijn broers krijgt hij verder een zakelijke opleiding. Rudolf vertrekt op 25-09-1912 voor rechtenstudie naar Leiden Breestraat 104. (bron: "het boek der gedachtenis" van de ouders).


In 1921 Burgemeester van Westkapelle, van 1923-1934 lid der Provinciale Staten van Zeeland. Op 05-11-1934 benoemd tot Burgemeester van Goes.
