ew Roman;">Mari was bekend als rijwielhersteller en -handelaar, en beheerde van 1936 tot ca.1960 een filiaal van Rijwielhandel Somers op het Rozenburgerplein. Van 1960 tot 1966 was hij filiaalhouder voor de Fa.Poppezijn en daarna tot aan zijn pensioen rijwielverkoper bij I.D.W. Zijn opleiding als fietsenmaker kreeg hij bij Rijwielfabriek Hulsman in Schiedam. Mari was vrolijk en actief, was in zijn jonge jaren praeses van de St.Jozefgezellen en op oudere leeftijd bingomaster bij de R.K.Ouderenvereniging St.Jan.  Was op familiefeestjes en familiereizen de gangmaker. 



De familie woonde op het Rozenburgerplein in Schiedam boven de winkel en verhuisde later naar de Savornin Lohmanlaan. Sinds 1980 woonde Mari samen met Margaretha W. van Breda-de Liefde in de flat op de Parkweg. Met Tante Gree, zoals zij door de kinderen werd genoemd, heeft Mari nog een gelukkige tijd doorgebracht. Hij verhuisde met haar in 1994 naar Zorgcentrum Frankenland, waar beiden zijn overleden.
