Tot nu toe enig gevonden spoor van de geboorte van een Martinus met een "Kroon" achternaam in 1760 in Geertruidenberg.
Trouwdocumenten van Martinus de Kroon met Cornelia de Jong in verschillende registers aangetroffen. Zowel Hervormd als Katholiek. Klaarblijkelijk hadden arme katholieken na het trouwen voor de kerk om hun huwelijk legaal te maken bij de lokale schepenen of de Hervormde kerk. Blijkens de documenten hebben ze voor beide opties gekozen.
