De ouders van de bruidegom en de getuige Schipholt verklaarden geen schrijven geleerd te hebben.
Hendik had toestemming van zijn commandant om in het huwelijk te treden:

TOESTEMMING TOT HET AANGAAN VAN EEN
HUWELIJK.
De Kolonel Kommandant van het 2e Regiment Vesting Artillerie verleend mits deze vergunning, tot het aangaan van een huwelijk, aan den milicien der ligting 1856 Schouwink Hendrik van het Regiment.
Het gemeente bestuur dat deze milicien in het huwelijk opneemt, wordt verzocht, van de voltrekking er van, aan de Hoofd-Administratie van het korps gevesigd te Breda kennis te geven, op dat de gevorderde aanteekening daarvan, in het stamboek kan geschieden.

De Commissaris des Konings in de provincie Overijssel, verklaart, dat Hendrik Schouwink, geboren te Lonneker den 29 September 1833, van beroep fabriekarbeider, zoon van Gradus en van Zwenneken Poerink Jonge, van beroep wever, binnen de gemeente van Lonneker voor de Nationale Militie is ingeschreven; dat aan hem vervolgens bij de loting is ten deel gevallen het Nommer 72, hetwelk tot heden niet opgeroepen zijnde, hem tot geene dienst heeft verpligt.

Bovenstaand certificaat is een beetje vreemd, omdat hier staat dat Hendrik vrij was van dienst terwijl hij bij zijn huwelijk de toestemming van zijn commandant heeft. Hij was dus wel in dienst.
